Title: New UK DVD of Valerie and Her Week of Wonders

Marc Morris - July 11, 2008 11:03 AM (GMT)
A brand new UK DVD release is on the way, from a brand new master with newly created subtitles!

Valerie and Her Week of Wonders coming to UK DVD

Steve Johnson - July 11, 2008 12:17 PM (GMT)
R2 is nice, but this film deserves a real stateside release, too. The Facets model of a few years ago does not come close to doing justice to its textural beauty, whose colors and clarity go a long way toward weaving a truly hypnotic spell. It's a film I want to watch on a screen, not a monitor.

Bravo!

Great, great, great movie! :)

BTW, the novel is also excellent.

Ditto, the soundtrack! Which can be found for an inexpensive sum at Dusty Groove America.

I'm interested in having a look at this new DVD. I once rented the old Facets DVD of Valerie and Her Week of Wonders, and even while I was watching it, it felt like a really bizarre dream that one just barely remembers after waking up.

It's the only film besides THE DEVILS where I immediately watched it again once it ended.
