The screenplay for Cruel Restaurant was written by Kawano and Satoshi Ôwada. The movie stars (listed order corresponds to order on DVD cover) Mihiro, Sakae Yamazaki, Katsuya Naruse, Yûsuke Iwata, Miho Funatsu, Toshiyuki Teranaka, Chihiro Koganezaki, and Kêsuke.

Here's a synopsis for Cruel Restaurant from the production: "Only men are amazed with the pot stickers of the Togen Restaurant. There is an eerie rumor that those who try to find the secret recipe of its pot stickers disappear near the restaurant. Police investigate, but there's no smoking gun with its owner, Lin (Mihiro). Various people come out of curiosity and get involved in horrendous murders. Finally, the truth about the Togen's pot stickers, called 'the extreme taste', is revealed."
