According to Fangoria's Chopping List, Paramount will re-release FRIDAY THE 13TH parts 1 and 2 on August 5. Any chance these are special editions or just more of the same?

claims it's a 2-disc special edition. It also claims it's 2.35. Supposedly the second one is also a special edition, as seen here.

Amazon also has a new disc for the original listed with a September 9 street date, also claiming to be 2.35. However this cover is very eye-catching, if misleading.

I suspect the specs will change closer to street date and these will be the same ol' same ol'. Prove me wrong, Paramount!

If memory serves, there are going to be 30 of these "I Love the "80's" re-releases on that day. Other titles include RED DAWN and GREASE 2. I imagine them to have snarky talking heads commenting on the films and "pop-up video" type content. But I know of nothing confirming this. They could be utterly bare bones.

I wonder if the second disc on both sets might turn out to be some unrelated "I Love the 80's" type material rather than additional F13 supplements.
