Title: OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies

Can't find that this was discussed here but maybe a couple of years ago when it came out in France? Anyway, I saw this today and was amused but didn't see what the positive reviews were raving about. Much of it is so deadpan that it barely qualifies as comedy and the spy story is overly familiar though the overall recreation of a 60s film (though it's set in 1955) is fairly accurate. Perhaps the most telling element for its 2006 date is that the filmmakers are careful to criticize colonialism and cultural ignorance - a more go-for-broke attitude could have made the same point and been funny as well.
