I've enjoyed reading the recent blog posts celebrating Jess Franco's birthday at
Video Watchblog and
Robert Monell's Franco page. Franco is an exciting director for me these days as there are dozens of fascinating sounding films by him (noted in OBSESSION: THE FILMS OF JESS FRANCO and elsewhere) that have never really been widely available, and there's a fresh sense of discovery when one of his more obscure titles hits DVD. I'd still like to see a properly uncut / subbed THE DEMONS, see LORNA THE EXORCIST, examine the early 80's EUGENIE film that is listed as one of his best movies but exists for me only as a few enticing stills, catch a few of his very early b/w films that are basically unavailable, and so on. Maybe the European DVD market will bring some of these to the rescue.
Any Franco fans have any other titles by him that they're patiently waiting for?
