Title: Sal Ciavarello on the Howard Stern Show
Paul Iannone - May 2, 2008 09:28 PM (GMT)
Mobius poster Sal Ciavarello briefly called in on Thursday's Stern Show. Apparently, former Stern staffer Jackie Martling has a small role in Sal's new film. They played an extended clip from the film earlier in the week and ragged on it. Still, as Sal points out in his phone call, it was good publicity.

I though Sal acquitted himself pretty well. I'm not sure I would have been able to go through with the call knowing what may be in store.
Sal posted an audio link up on his site, check it out here:

Sal gave me an advance peek at THE WICKED and I have to confess that, even though I'm fairly immune to the whole Howard Stern experience, I did laugh out loud at Martling's cameo. I'm not proud of myself ... but that's the reality, people.

You take a shot at Howard and he's gonna rip you a new one, that's pretty much guaranteed, which he did twice. The first time was about a month ago when he played the entire 12 min. scene on the air. Then last Thursday I get a call from Richard Christy at about 6:15am saying that Howard was playing the scene again and asked me to call in. I must admit I was real apprehensive to make the call, I just wish I wasn't as nervous and could have shared some funny stories with him. I had a longer and much better answer for why Howard takes a shot in the scene but knowing him with his zero tolerance for long drawn stories he would have cut me off for sure. But I think that's part of the reason why his show is so successful, it's his keen sense of pacing.
As a fan it was thrilling to get some publicity, as a filmmaker the abuse stung a little. ha, but all in all I still loved every minute of it.

I thought you came across great. Didn't sound nervous at all, you hid it well. I especially liked how you handled the leaving in of the flubbed line abuse.
Side note: I just opened a bottle of SoBe green tea and the inside of the cap read "who's high pitch" so I'll be e-mailing photos of that as my desperate attempt to get a mention on the show.

Thanks for putting the clips out there Sal; yeah, you came across well I thought, and I think Howard showed some respect - or as much he's gonna give anyone - when he talked to you.
AKAIK there's no way to listen to Howard online, right?

Thanks guys. "Who's High Pitch"...ha, I can imagine the non-HS fans trying to figure that one out.
Miles, I'm positive there is a way to listen to Stern on-line, I personally listen to him on my stiletto but I think you need to go to sirius.com and type in your info if your a subscriber.
BTW, there is a visual to the Jackie Scene on youtube if you guys like to see what they've been ripping apart...

In my shameless attempt to capitalize on the Howard Stern mention I've cut a new trailer for "The Wicked" and placed on youtube...

More declarative sentences should end with the word "balls."
