Every now and then, the background score for LOST sounds slightly distorted, exactly like a cassette tape stretching for a moment. It's never for an extended period--just fleeting notes.

It's never when the music is foregrounded--just when it's soft and underneath dialog. And the dialog never sounds similarly distorted.

Anyone else notice this?

Not sure if it's intentional, the fault of my local ABC (New York) affiliate, or my cable company (Long Island's Cablevision).

And yes, I've noticed this when watching the show live, and not just when I've videotaped it. And I don't have the DVDs and can't compare.
