Title: Speaking of NIGHT GALLERY
Description: Episode titles...

NIGHT GALLERY runs on a Chicago affiliate station called ME - TV or MY - TV or something like that late night...
I've watched a couple of episodes and was surprised at the strange quality of the direction/editing. The overall juxtaposition is so off-kilter its unsettling, which I suppose was the intent of the show. But sometimes it just looks amateurish.
The couple episodes I caught were:
THE TUNE IN DAN'S CAFE
MARMALADE WINE
THE TUNE IN DAN'S CAFE was pretty cool with some interesting flashback sequences and slo-mo (albeit bloodless) violence. But MARMALADE WINE was arty and pretentious with a particularly bad performance by Robert Morse.
The episode titles - often - are better than the actual episodes.
What were some of the better episode titles you can remember?

If nothing else, "NIGHT GALLERY" indeed had great titles:
They're Tearing Down Tim Riley's Bar
Spectre in Tap Shoes
The Girl with the Hungry Eyes
Keep in Touch, We'll Think of Something
There Aren't Any More McBanes
The Flip Side of Satan
Silent Snow, Secret Snow

That kinda defines much of 70s TV. I read that Rod Serling didn't like the show as much as his previous efforts.

Don't forget that these are the syndicated versions, which in some cases are so butchered that a few episodes no longer make any sense! Believe me, there are episodes that don't seem nearly as "off-kilter" when seen uncut.

These have been edited for more... commercials.

Well, "Silent Snow, Secret Snow" and "The Girl With the Hungry Eyes" are the titles of the short stories from which the episodes were adapted, so...
