Has anyone seen any of the Paramount titles recently issued by Legend Films? There are a number of interesting films among them (MANDINGO, THE PIED PIPER, THE SKULL, FRAMED) but it would be nice to know what the transfers are like.

The Legend website is here. These titles are currently available only from Legend and "selected" Target stores, but Amazon has some of them listed for presale with a release date of June 3.

There's a thread from the sci/fi horror board entitled "Upcoming DVD releases, PHASE IV and more!" -not easily identifiable- with screen cauptures of THE SKULL, etc.

. . . as Michael mentions, the transfer for THE SKULL is very good, if not excellent - it does not say so on the case, but it is anamorphic . . . I have purchased MANDINGO (how could I not!!) as well as VILLA RIDES (a script by Robert Towne and Sam Peckinpah) but have not yet had a chance to watch them; FRAMED (directed by Phil Karlson) is not available on the LEGEND site until May, as are a few more I want to purchase - I am feeling pretty confident about the quality of their product . . .

Unfortunately, Baby It's You and French Postcards, which are part of the package, still contain the re-scored soundtracks that have existed in previous home video editions. On the bright side, they are now presented OAR.
