Just picked up the Region 1 DVD of The Farrelly Brothers' THE HEARTBREAK KID. According to the packaging, the film has been edited for content. Apparently, in the US theatrical version, the end credits were interrupted by two scenes, the second of which has been removed from the DVD. This scene reportedly took place in 1974 at Eddie's Summer camp, and showed the eight-year old Eddie saying goodnight to his bunkmate, who, after making sure Eddie was asleep, pulled out a mirror full of blow and began snorting it.
I deliberately avoided the UK disc, from which the BBFC had removed a shot of a donkey's penis. But does anyone know if the end credits scene can be found in the UK edition?
Why'd the BBFC remove the penis? Did this somehow qualify as animal cruelty?

It was simply a case of the distributor preferring a 15 certificate. The UK High Definition disc was actually released uncut with an 18 certificate, though that's in the now defunct HD format.
Interesting - I see that the BBFC classified both the 15-rated DVD and the 18-rated HD-DVD versions in revised forms about 25 seconds shorter than the non-revised versions - although both versions appear to have been classified on the same day.
I presume the scene in question is around this length then?
