Title: INSIDE
Description: or, if you prefer, Ŕ L'INTÉRIEUR

I've heard so much about this film and went to pick it up at Blockbuster yesterday (on the Dimension Extreme label), but they only had the presumably unextreme R rated version, so I passed.
Is this flick worth seeking out elsewhere?

What an abortive attempt at a substantive post. Or did you just hit 'submit' prematurely?

It was just something I tossed off.

I know! You'd think such a fruitful writer could conceive of something more productive. Instead, he just pulls out these barren puns...

i was really looking forward to seeing this and just watched it tonight...everything was great about it, the acting, the directing, the lighting (amazing), the gore....
except the story was ripe with lame horror movie cliche's
spoilers

the protagonist gets a gun, but doesn't use it...
the protagonist kills someone they care about by accident...
someone who the audience thinks is dead later appears to make the running time a little longer...
much like another french horror flick, HAUTE TENSION, it looked great, but was a bit lacking in the idea department...like if it had another rewrite, it woulda been a classic...
to keep the bad puns going, i think these filmakers have a good film "inside" them...this just wasn't it.

On sale at J&R for 14.99. Went over to pick it up during lunch (after reading about it here and in the NY Times - I just got to the review today) but the lines for the cashier were so long I'll just have to remain expectant...

It was shown here in NY a couple of months ago as part of Lincoln Center's Film Comment Selects series. There's some striking imagery (no doubt more so on a theater screen) and the revelation of the antagonist's identity jolts our perception of events most effectively; but the storytelling overall is padded and creaky. It could have been terrific as a 20-minute short.

I picked it up last night in my neighborhood at the FYE, and I got a free DVD as a bonus (I chose BECOMING JULIA, a terrifying tale of actors and acting starring Annette (CARRIE 3, QUILTS OF TERROR, ROACHSCREAM) Bening.

Brutal, surreal at times, and unforgettable. The image of the mystery woman in her long coat, head titled down as she lights a cigarette seemed almost giallo to me, even though this is a French film. The DVD does feature an English soundtrack as well, and some very worthwhile behind-the-scenes material.
I got to watch TWO newish movies this weekend!

Oops - I meant "tilted" down.
