Wow, this stunned me. Going through new releases for tomorrow, I saw The Asylum is releasing a sequel to their Steven Spielberg cash-in WAR OF THE WORLDS. Even more amazing, C. Thomas Howell returns and directs this time (he directed some entertaining crime pics for PM Entertainment)!

A friend and I tried to watch it this weekend. Now, I enjoy me some bad movies, from BOA VS. PYTHON to LADY TERMINATOR but this ... this is basically unwatchable. I've seen high school proms with better set design, middle school plays with better southern accents ... ugh. After somewhere between twenty minutes (what it probably was) and eight hours (what it felt like), we couldn't take any more.

Please, learn from my mistake. Not all things that are bad are so bad that they're good. In fact, they can just be completely abysmal.

Wow, Doug. Was this Part 1 or Part 2?

This was part 2. I didn't think part 1 would be a requisite, and it's certainly not. Apparently Asylum makes their movies on the cheap by (amongst other methods) having every scene be incredibly belabored exposition, with the most rudimentary/standard blocking, shot choices, etc. I'm also assuming that it was shot in Romania or something, judging from some of the bit player accents.
