I think this is very good for studios wanting to zero in on their intended audiences:
Regal Cinemas approves Red Band Trailers again
Weird. When I worked for Loews up to 2001, we received (and I was aggressive about programming) red bands all the time.
It has been years since I saw a red band trailer in a theater. However, red band trailers appear to have been extremely successful in selling films like SUPERBAD over the Internet, so perhaps the studios and theater owners are pulling their heads out of their rears, and actually beginning to aggressively market their products appropriately to their target audience.
I know, sounds crazy, right?
