Description: Oscar-winning composer was 83

Rosenman won back-to-back Oscars in 1975 and 1976 (for BARRY LYNDON and BOUND FOR GLORY--"I write original music, too," he quipped), but is better known for memorable scores for EAST OF EDEN (his first feature assignment) and REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE. The Mobian iPod would include one of his atonal efforts, FANTASTIC VOYAGE, BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES, the 1978 LORD OF THE RINGS, STAR TREK IV, THE CAR, and PROPHECY (he seemed to prefer genre work; less studio interference). And lots of TV.

His score for LORD OF THE RINGS really made that movie for me.

Those four right there are what I love him for, though I also enjoy a couple of his more "mainstream" scores - RIP.
