Well, it's really official. The house that Freddy built is no more, having been absorbed into Warners. While many saw this coming for a looong time, one wonders what this does to the remakes of A NIGHT MARE ON ELM STREET and FRIDAY THE 13th., being as Platinum Dunes deals were signed with New Line.

Of course, I shan't shed a tear if these, especially the Nightmare remake/redoodoo, died a quick and quiet death.

Still, New Line was an historic studio,especially for the horror genre. Bob Shaye also supported John Waters and was the only man crazy enough to finance THE LORD OF THE RINGS. He's made some really dumb mistakes over the past few years, but there's no denying the impact that the studio had.
