Title: OK! Let's do it! A remake of the '31 DRACULA
Bob Gutowski - February 22, 2008 03:25 PM (GMT)
Starring Javier Bardem.
I saw NO COUNTRY last night, and I was haunted by how well he'd play a Lugosi-like Count. I'd say DON'T hire Gus Van Sant, and DON'T slavishly copy all the camera angles, but use the script, and approximate the original sets, and use some terrific actors to support Javier - some real Brits, maybe? How about Ian Holm for Van Helsing?

And the armadillos. Do not forget the armadillos. :)

Ay, si! Los armadillos! The Texas connection!
And speaking of Spanish DRACULA, here's a link to a recent Lupita Tovar interview! And she MUST have a cameo in the new film!

NO COUNTRY FOR OLD DRACULA, with Tommy Lee Jones as a world-weary Van Helsing and Bardem replacing David Niven as Old Drac. :)
