A page for Yoshihiro Nishimura's Speakerman: The Boo (Supîkâman: The Boo) - a.k.a. "SpeakerHead from Coal Mine" - has been added to GOMORRAHY.com, and on that page is a trailer for the movie. The movie had its world première at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival (Yûbari Kokusai Fantasutikku Eigasai) - "YIFFF" for short - in Hokkaido, Japan on February 22, 2004.

The screenplay for Speakerman: The Boo was written by Nishimura. The movie starred (listed order corresponds to trailer order) Ayano Kurokawa, Tôya Orihara, Chika Suzuki, Demo Tanaka (who has also been in a number of movies directed by Noboru Iguchi), Kikurin (who was also in Tamakichi Anaru's Tumbling Doll of Flesh (Niku daruma)), Noboru Iguchi (who himself has directed such movies as Manji, Cat-Eyed Boy (Nekome kozô), and the upcoming The Machine Girl (Kataude mashin gâru)), Nancy, Sakurako Tezuka, Masayoshi Abe, Saburô Nakata, Yoshi Nakata, Masayuki Denri (who was also one of the movie's producers), Takako Denri, Shiho Sawano, Shin'ya Sawano, Kenta Suzuki, Shin'ya Sudô, Motokazu Asakura, Tomonori Sudô, Masato Kurokawa, Naoya Sawada (who was also one of the movie's producers), the citizens of Yubari, and Yubari Cinema Supporters (which produced the movie). Nishimura and Daisuke Kurokawa were also in it.

Here's a description of Speakerman: The Boo from the YIFFF website: "Long, long time ago, SPEAKERMAN was living in a coal mine in a North town. Inside of a dark coal pit, he was working with the people in town stained black. ¶ Everytime a coal miner gets injured, SPEAKERMAN shouts to inform to others, 'there's someone injured!'. ¶ Also, everytime an accident happens, he shouts out loud like warning sirens. ¶ As time goes by, the coal mine is closed down and the people of the town disappeared. SPEAKERMAN is all-alone. For a long time, he has not seen anybody in the town. But, one day..... ¶ It's a heart-warming story of the SPEAKERMAN, a girl and a legendary coal miner, almost like an illustrated book."

Nishimura's other directing credits include Anatomia Extinction (Genkai jinkô keisû) - which was screened at YIFFF (then called "Yubari International Fantastic Adventure Film Festival" / "Yûbari Kokusai Bôken Fantasutikku Eigasai") in February of 1995 - and the upcoming Tokyo Gore Police (Tôkyô zankoku keisatsu). Primarily a special make-up effects artist, he is the founder of Nishimura Motion Picture Model Makers Group (Y.K. Nishimura Eizô) - "NMPMMG" for short.

BTW, Speakerman had a cameo in Yûdai Yamaguchi and Jun'ichi Yamamoto's Meatball Machine (see the fifth production still on the page for that movie on GOMORRAHY.com).

A few production stills from the fake commercials in Nishimura's abovementioned Tokyo Gore Police have been added to the page for the movie on GOMORRAHY.com; the fake commercials were directed by Noboru Iguchi and Yûdai Yamaguchi.

Nishimura and his company NMPMMG have been responsible for the special make-up effects in a number of movies directed by Iguchi and Yamaguchi, including Iguchi's abovementioned The Machine Girl and Yamaguchi's Tamami: The Baby's Curse (Akanbo shôjo).
