Another intriguing airing that I stumbled upon. Encore Mystery will be airing two JOE DANCER films this week. These were a series of detective films for NBC starring a post-BARETTA Robert Blake that aired in 1981. Here is was is scheduled:

Joe Dancer
Movie Private eye Joe Dancer ties a powerful Beverly Hills family to murder.
205 EMYST Tue 1/22 4:20 AM

Joe Dancer III: The Big Trade
Movie Los Angeles private eye Joe Dancer probes a Hollywood scandal and is framed for manslaughter.
205 EMYST Thu 1/24 7:20 AM

Has anyone seen these films?

Encore Mystery is also airing another one called THE MONKEY MISSION. As I recall (vaguely), Joe Dancer is basically Tony Baretta. I recorded all three of these movies last week, but haven't been able to watch them yet. Looking forward to it.

Now, if only someone would rerun HELLTOWN--Blake as a butt-kicking urban priest!

In a meta-world, Dancer might conceivably have investigated Blake. :)

And then thrown his head down in shame when the case results in a hung jury.
