Title: BOLL IS BACK: In the Name of the King: A Dungeon
Description: Siege Tale Whose in for a NYC screening?

Well lets see Christmas was AVP2, this week ITNOTKADST, then Cloverfield, then RAMBO! What a fun month of cinema (except for the crap that was JUNO). Side note check out Brian Tylers myspace page for the Rambo suite, he also scored AVP2 and is a pretty decent composer IMO.
I'm going to see INTOTKADST at the 34th Street theater at 8:20. Anyone else wanting to head out for a wonderful day of MST3King? (before anyone says anything Uwe Boll movies scream for audience participation, plus if it was anything like D-Wars I won't be alone in that view (heck it was pretty much uniformity). Here is the cast to peak you interest. This looks like a wonderful cult experience.
Here are some movie clips too
http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=InTheNameOfKingFunny thing is the MA should be great as Ching Sui Tang is the MA choreographer
http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0157889/ (Nuff Said), granted if he has a wire-fu orgy and forgets the basics it could suck),
Jason Statham ... Farmer
Leelee Sobieski ... Muriella
John Rhys-Davies ... Merick
Ron Perlman ... Norick
Claire Forlani ... Solana
Kristanna Loken ... Elora
Matthew Lillard ... Duke Fallow
BEST YET!!!!!
Ray Liotta ... Gallian
Burt Reynolds ... King Konreid
So whose in?

ITNOTKADST?
For a moment, I thought that was some new Russian film that I hadn't heard about yet...
Richard Harland Smith - January 11, 2008 08:51 PM (GMT)
Where's Joanna Pacula? Seems like she'd be a perfect fit for this... or is Claire Forlani the new Joanna Pacula?

I'm still waiting for POSTAL.

Funny thing is Freestyle Releasing (who is also doing ITNOTKADST) had that seemingly prepped to go last October (it even appeared on the IMDB coming soon tab on the front page). No idea what happened.

I just got back from a matinee of this....Ian, you won't be disappointed. It's not as godawful as, say, HOUSE OF THE DEAD or ALONE IN THE DARK, but it's about on par with BLOODRAYNE. In other words, there's a lot of unintended laughs, but it's not completely incompetent. Statham and Forlani come off best--Statham just because he doesn't have a whole lot to do other than action scenes, Forlani because, for some inexplicable reason, she appears to actually be trying. Leelee is as bland as can be, Burt appears to be half-asleep (and Dr. Uwe gives us lots of closeups so we see just how bad Burt's facelift looks), Ron Perlman just seems to be one Guillermo del Toro phone call away from walking off the set, and John Rhys-Davies is just happy to not be on the Sci-Fi Channel, but the top acting dishonors go to Liotta and Lillard. I knew Lillard was gonna be trouble when his first line of dialogue had him rolling an R. I'm surprised he didn't twirl his moustache, but then again, he can't really grow a convincing one. I don't know what Liotta is doing in this. It's easily the most embarrassing role of his career and it appears as if he was just told to go as far over the top as he could.
The CGI is pretty primitive-looking. In one shot, a buddy I was with said "Are they standing in front of a Bob Ross painting?" There's no excuse for how bad the effects are in the shot when Statham raids Liotta's stronghold.
It comes up time and again whenever a new Uwe opus takes a dump in theaters, but I don't know how Dr. Boll manages to get the talent he does. Maybe he's just a fun guy to work for, who knows?
And, you gotta love a 2008 release still carrying a 2006 copyright.
Bravo, Dr. Boll---another fine piece of filmmaking!

I suspect big wheelbarrows full of cash probably do the trick. ;)
Sadly, it looks like that era has come to an end (thanks mostly to the Germans stopping that big tax break they were doing). His next three films are already completed (BLOODRAYNE II, TUNNEL RATS, and FAR CRY) and the male lead in all three is Michael Pare.

Yeah, but he's totally coming back. In a big way.

Boll delivers his worst performance yet at the box office. The film took in a mere $975,000 yesterday and came in at an ominous 13th place. Keep in mind, sites had predicted at least a $6 million weekend. OUCH!

I blame the colon in the title. Anyone else find it weird that 1/3 of the movies in the top 15 have colons in their titles?
NATIONAL TREASURE: BOOK OF SECRETS
THE PIRATES WHO DON'T DO ANYTHING: A VEGGIE TALES MOVIE
SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET
IN THE NAME OF THE KING: A DUNGEON SIEGE TALE
THE WATER HORSE: LEGEND OF THE DEEP
