LIFE OF BRIAN is also getting a Blu-Ray and SD-DVD release on 1/29. Any idea how it compares to the Criterion DVD?

It's an anamorphic transfer, whose transfer gets so so reviews (see DVD Basen link below), and this is during the earlier days of DVD, but it does have a lot of extras.
