The screenplay for Eiga: Kurosagi was written by Eriko Shinozaki, based on the Weekly Young Sunday (Shûkan Yangu Sandê) manga serial "Kurosagi - The Black Swindler" by Kuromaru and Takeshi Natsuhara.
