Title: FOX HORROR CLASSICS question
Description: missing inserts?
Dave Garrett - December 17, 2007 05:48 AM (GMT)
For anyone who picked up the recent FOX HORROR CLASSICS box set, a question: did HANGOVER SQUARE come with any postcard-sized stills like the other two titles in the set, or not?
I got this set during the DDD sale, and just got around to cracking it open today. I've had bad luck with missing inserts in Fox titles in the past (the last time, it took over six months before I finally succeeded in getting replacement inserts from Fox's consumer affairs office), so I'm wondering if the same problem has cropped up again, or if this disc really didn't have any inserts.

I also got this in the Deep Discount sale and there's 2 cards in HANGOVER SQUARE but none inside THE LODGER.

I was afraid of that.
In the great scheme of things, it's a relatively minor issue, but it's irritating that this seems to be a recurring problem with Fox titles. I just recently received replacement inserts from one of the titles in the first Charlie Chan box and one of the titles in the Hemingway box, some six months after I'd contacted Fox Consumer Affairs about them. Even stranger, the envelope I received them in had two different postmarks on it, one from June (not too long after I first contacted them), and one from the beginning of this month, leading me to believe that someone misplaced it when it was supposed to be mailed much earlier.
I think I've posted this before, but anyone who's missing inserts (or needs to request a replacement DVD if it's defective or missing) can email Fox's Consumer Affairs office at foxdrop@4icc.com - the address isn't exactly easy to find on their website, to say the least.

At least in the US you still have some chance of getting the inserts. For those of us residing in other parts of the world I guess we just have to live with such annoyances; little point in writing to either Fox or Deep Discount who still haven't replied to my complaint about the "Ramones Alive" DVD not being present in the package they sent...on the enclosed order form I can make out that the title wasn't ticked so it's omission was clearly known at the time.

My copy came with 2 postcard stills from HANGOVER SQ...in the UNDYING MONSTER disc! No others.

Makes you wonder why they bothered going to the trouble and expense of having the cards printed. I don't think they're mentioned anywhere in the advertising, so they're not being used as a selling point. Just a nice bonus, I guess...if you get them!

After I checked for the cards I thoroughly went over the packaging, and you're right, there's no mention of them anywhere.

I just opened mine up and the same. Two HANGOVER SQUARE stills in THE UNDYING MONSTER slimline keepcase and no others.
