Title: HALLOWEEN remake DVD marketing

Has anyone seen the TV spots for the upcoming DVD release of Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN?

They're sending kind of a mixed message. On the one hand, they seemed to have reigned in their bragging by referring to it along the lines of being a "companion piece to the original," but then they have a snippet from what I'm guessing is a featurette with Zombie saying how he wanted everything to be "raw and original."

Regarding the latter comment, do filmmakers and actors really believe some of the stuff they spout in promotional features? I was wondering if Jan De Bont really thinks his THE HAUNTING is a character-centered psychological film or if the filmmakers of the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE remake really thought they were casting their film with likable, believable characters.

I'm still planning to rent the remake, I didn't bother to see it in theaters.

What saddens me about the ad I saw last night is that it referred to the film as "record breaking." Sadly, it is the top grossing HALLOWEEN film by a fraction (despite having made nearly 50% of that in three days). I comfort myself knowing that adjusted figures trounce it.
