Title: RED SIREN question?

Dean DeMarco - January 8, 2005 02:45 AM (GMT)
I just rented this dvd today, and flipped through it a little. Just have a question though. This is a French film, correct? If so, I notice on the audio that the French language track seems better, louder, than the English track. I figuered at first it was because this is a French made movie, and that was the spoken language, hence the better sounding track. Until I heard Asia's voice in English, (which is the only one I really know in the movie), which to me sounds like her voice, and her lip movements appeared to be her speaking in English. I also realized she could have dubbed it later, in her voice, in English, but it appeared to me she was speaking English, or it was a pretty good dub job? As I said, I only scanned through it, and the other actors seem to be speaking English also. I realize if this is a French movie, and they're speaking English, that it's because the flick was targeted for import, and that's the reason for the English dialogue. But why such a difference in the tracks?

I was going to pick this up as an Import, before it hit the streets in the US, and I would have expected the French track to sound better, because at the time I thought that was the spoken language of the film. But now seeing English seems like the spoken language, & this is a US release, why such a difference in the language tracks? Mind you, I don't have any special hook-ups from my tv set. Just a standard 26" flat-screen stereo tv, no speaker hook-ups or anything. But it was a very noticeable difference.

Anyone who cares to comment, and enlighten me a little on this, would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dean

I've seen it a couple of days ago, and yes, it was filmed in english.

If you've read the book, as i have done, you'll be disppointed, but if you have not read it, maybe you'll enjoy it more, Anyway, just for Asia, i'm glad to have seen it .
