Title: MST3K collector's, question?

Dean DeMarco - January 7, 2005 11:59 PM (GMT)
I was getting a little behind on my MST3K collections, and I just picked up the last 3 box sets, Volumes 4, 5, & 6 recently.

This is more than likely an old subject, but do the folks here that have these, have the Vol. 4 & 5 set, with the HAMLET & MERLIN'S SHOP OF MYSTICAL WONDERS screw-up on the descriptions on the back of the box sets? I haven't opened either one yet to check and see if it says any different on the inside, as I just got them in yesterday from DeepDiscount, but the descriptions for both, say that each one is from show #1009, and has the exact same stars, movie time, ect. I haven't seen either one, but I take it that the description in question is for HAMLET? Just wondering though if all these are like that, with the screw-up, or have they made an attempt to correct this? It isn't anything major, and I certainly have more things to worry about than this, but I'm sort of a perfectionist when it comes to things being "right". It's more or less for curiosity to see if everyone else who has these, has them like this.

Thanks.

Dean

I checked my copies and noted the same problem you did on the back cover of Volume 5. "Starring Maximillian Schell, Hans Caninenburg, Dunja Movar, Karl Michael Vogler. Show # 1009/B&W/+-92 Mins." is repeated from the back cover of Volume 4. The description on the inside of the box for MERLIN'S SHOP OF MYSTICAL WONDERS is correct, as is the chapter guide in the enclosed booklet.

As far as I know, you are the first person to bring this up on the boards. I bought mine when they came out, and I don't know if Rhino corrected this on future pressings/printings. I'm not even sure if they are aware of the problem. If you're really curious, I would suggest emailing them through their website. Rhino USED to be very responsive to emails, but I don't know about the current regime.

Maybe I'll do that then? E-mail Rhino themselves and ask if they ever corrected it? I don't know how long DeepDiscount has had the Vol. 5 in their inventory, but if they're recent, I would say they didn't? But I would think someone, some Mstie collector out there, or otherwise, would have brought this to their attention by now? I'll shoot them over an e-mail though for my own curiousity.

Thanks for your reply Erik.
