Rest in peace. I don't have much detail as, aside from the forum where I first saw it posted, the only sites I've seen mention it are brief obits on Italian sites. He died last week at the age of 80.

I haven't seen that many of his films, but what I have seen I've really enjoyed. The Forgotten Pistolero was standard spaghetti western stuff but better executed than many; Viva Django is, in my opinion, one of Terence Hill's best westerns; Texas Addio was one of the first non-Leone spaghetti westerns I saw and played a large part in my love of the genre; and when it comes to doing something different with spaghetti westerns, who can forget the deliriously enjoyable Blindman?

He made plenty of other spaghetti westerns and plenty of other films outside of that genre too - none of which I've seen. Please add your recommendations if you've enjoyed his work.

I recently reviewed GET MEAN on this board. It and BLINDMAN are interestingly oddball westerns that certainly think "outside the box," though I suspect both are more the vision of Tony Anthony and (maybe) Lloyd Battista than Baldi (perhaps COMIN' AT YA! is too). Those three Anthony films are the only Baldi movies I've seen, but they aren't standard Italian westerns, for what that's worth.

Don't forget the absolutely outrageous TERROR EXPRESS, still MIA on DVD, and a good film to boot.

He seemed to have a curate's egg of a career (most of which I bet nobody has seen in years, if at all). Handfuls of crappy comedies, some good Spaghetti Westerns (TEXAS, ADDIO; BLINDMAN; the aforementioned VIVA, DJANGO), some bad (RITA OF THE WEST); heaps of pepla, a smattering of 3D and giallo movies, 80s war films etc. He covered almost every genre.
