Distribution rights for David Morley's
Mutants are being offered for sale by
TF1 International SA. The movie, which was scheduled to start shooting yesterday (November 7th), is being produced by Alain Benguigui and Thomas Verhaeghe for
Sombrero Productions SARL.
CTV International SARL plans to release it theatrically in France in the summer of next year.
The screenplay for
Mutants was written by Morley, Johann Bernard, and Louis-Paul Desanges. The movie stars Hélène de Fougerolles as Sonia, and
Francis Renaud as Marco. It co-stars former Muay Thai champion
Dida Diafat.
Here's a synopsis for
Mutants from TF1 International's website: "In a world devastated by a pandemic virus that turns human beings into primitive and bloodthirsty creatures, Marco and Sonia set off to find a secret base to escape from the 'mutants'. When the latter attack them, Marco is contaminated too. Little by little, he undergoes the same changes. Sonia, who is expecting a baby, is then forced to fight her worst enemy, the man she loves."
