Below is a synopsis
(contains spoilers) for
Mutants from the back of the sales poster.
At the Sho-Nuff Sugar Co., CEO Braylon and his scientist Sergei create an additive that makes sugar even more addictive than nicotine, alcohol, and even narcotics. To test its effectiveness, homeless and runaways kidnapped by the company's security firm Black Rock are imprisoned and used as guinea pigs, but there are terrible side effects. Sergei wants to go down in history as the foremost visionary of human cloning.
Subjects of the experiment eventually become violent zombies within 30 days, and Black Rock's Commander Sykes must track them down and kill them when they escape. But after he finds out that the brother of Erin, a Sho-Nuff employee he has fallen in love with, has been injected with the additive, he has a change of heart. He kills Sergei and rescues her brother Ryan with the help of their dad Griff.
But Sykes does not get to him in time. Ryan is already turning into a zombie, and the teenager volunteers to go on a suicide mission with Sykes. They blow up the plant, but they are both accidentally killed by Colonel Gauge and other members of Black Rock sent to stop the plague from spreading. They kill all the escaped zombies, including the one who tears Braylon apart, but it is too late. Thousands of pounds of the tainted sugar have been shipped all over the world, and thousands of zombies have begun wreaking havoc on humanity.
