Title: Jan. 11th 70's Soul releases on DVD
Description: Brotherhood of Death and more!

Jan. 11th is going to be a good day for 70's Soul releases!

First we have a $10 double feature of Brotherhood of Death / One Down Two to Go. I've rarely met too many people that have seen Brotherhood of Death - the only time I've seen it is when Tarantino screened his print of the movie... its one fine movie w/ a great climax (and some very obvious references that Pulp Fiction used from it). I'm so glad this movie is finally out on DVD for people to discover!

The other movie on this double feature dvd is - One Down Two to Go is an 80's movie w/ Richard Roundtree, Fred Williamson, Jim Kelly, and Jim Brown... its been awhile since I've seen this movie, so can't really comment on it, other than it has a great cast! The Fred Williamson commentary should be fun to listen to.

The release notes for this double feature dvd:
* Widescreen Presentation enhanced for 16x9 TVs
* Original Full-Frame Presentation
* Audio Commentary with Actor/Director Fred Williamson. Moderated by Perry Martin.
* Fred Williamson Bio
* Theatrical Trailer

The other releases are under Universal's "Soul Showcase" which I don't know what the full release slate for 2005 is... but looks promising if they are presenting the movies at least w/ good transfers. At around $15 it looks like we get good visually presented version of the movie and English Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono with no extra's (which is kinda sad if they don't even at least put the trailer on these - hopefully someday not only will companies put out one trailer for 70's soul movies but a full archive of trailers).

That Man Bolt! starring Fred Williamson as a secret agent comes out. Finally can get rid of my VHS tape of this.
release notes for it:
* Anamorphic Widescreen (1.85:1)
* English Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono

Trick Baby is is a movie I've heard very mixed things about... can't wait to finally see it.
release notes for it:
* Anamorphic Widescreen (1.85:1)
* English Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono

Willie Dynamite finally gets a release... one of the handful of movies in the pimp genre (Candy Tangerine Man, Mack, etc.,)... while it definitely doesn't stand out as being great... its one of those hell-alot of fun movies to watch... the highlight of Roscoe Orman's career outside of him being in F/X. Not too many actors made the transition from pimp to Sesame Street like Orman did. I love the main theme song for the movie by J.J. Johnson (Across 110th Street, Cleopatra Jones). I'm really looking forward to this release and hope its got a beautiful picture/audio... especially after seeing how good it looked when briefly showed in American Pimp.
release notes for it:
* Anamorphic Widescreen (1.85:1)
* English Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono

This sounds like the DVD that has already been released. I didn't buy it, because the price was too high for a movie that frankly isn't very good. I'll buy this one though. And, yeah, the Fred commentary should be good; I like him shooting the breeze with Robert Forster, Frank Pesce and Bill Lustig on VIGILANTE.
