The Vancouver Comicon and Monster Attack Team- Canada are bringing Tokyo based filmmakers Norman England and Shusuke Kaneko to Vancouver Canada for events on Saturday October 20th and Sunday October 21st. Both directors will be on hand for screenings of their films DEATH NOTE and THE iDol and to sign autographs at the fantasy film model and toy show “Of Horrors and Heroes”.

Shusuke Kaneko directed GMK and the 1990s Gamera trilogy, some of the most acclaimed kaiju films in recent years. His movie DEATH NOTE (based on the popular manga and anime) was a box office smash in Japan and was recently acquired for release in North America by VIZ Pictures.

Norman England is a filmmaker and reporter who has covered Japanese films for Fangoria, Hobby Japan, and Japanese Giants. He made his directorial debut with THE iDol, the story of an evil toy from outer space that lives off its owner’s emotions. He is currently in pre-production on his second feature, INVASIA.
