Does anybody know if this ever had a video release anywhere? It seems to have vanished without trace.

Columbia had it for its theatrical run, but I'm not sure who has it now.

It never had a video release, but shows up on cable every few years. Not sure who owns it, but it's long overdue for a DVD release, with a Stacy Keach and Fred Forrest commentary.

Caught a rare screening of it in L.A. a few months back with Fredric Forrest and Barry Primus speaking afterward. What a great movie!

"Here's $20. Go change your name."

I bet you can guess my next question - does anybody have a copy of it? I'm dying to see this.

No, but this nice one-sheet reminds me of the key art for California Split:

It's a Columbia Picture. Mark H., is it music rights holding this up or something else?:

Terrence Malick co-wrote this using the pseudonym David Whitney. On the Malick front, along with Gravy Train, Paramount's Deadhead Miles (which Malick wrote) is also M.I.A. on home video.

Music could be a factor, though I don't recall any existing needle-drop music from my only viewing of the film.

My most educated guess though is that Sony is just completely disinterested in releasing a DVD of what they see as a nothing title.
