Distribution rights for Jorge Algora's Spanish-Argentine psychological thriller The Mudboy (El niño de barro) are now being offered for sale by Filmax International (Sociedad General de Derechos Audiovisuales S.A.). Filmax released the movie theatrically in Spain on May 18th; Disney's Buena Vista International released it theatrically in Argentina on September 6th.

The screenplay for The Mudboy was written by Algora, Christian Busquier, and Héctor Carré. The movie stars Maribel Verdú as Estela, Daniel Freire as Inspector Laureano Petrie, Chete Lera as Doctor Soria, Juan Ciancio as Mateo, César Borbón as Octavio, Sergio Boris as Subinspector Palacios, Oscar Alegre as Valentín, Rolly Serrano as Blas, Abel Ayala as Cayetano, Shahir Jaller as Jesualdo, Pablo Krynsky as Paco Cebrián, Milagros González as Josefina Estévez, and Nicolás Torcanowsky as Antonio Larrondo.
