Title: Uncut BLOODTHIRSTY BUTCHERS?
Description: Does it exist?

So, here I am with the Video Kart release of BLOODTHIRSTY BUTCHERS/THE RATS ARE COMING, THE WEREWOLVES ARE HERE! Got for peanuts, so it seemed like a good buy.I haven't seen BB in a long time, and stupid me didn't do any reading up on the Video Kart release, only recalling some small controversy with some of their titles but not recalling exactly what. but are both of these films cut on this DVD? BB certainly is very cut up, and both transfers have a whole lot of blow out int he contrasts.
Does an uncut version of BLOODTHIRSTY BUTCHERS exist? And what is the currently longest version available? I was really in the mood to sit down with these again until I started to notice the cuts.
And what of TRACTWAH? Is there a longer version of this out there, somewhere?

It's been a long time since I saw the VideoKart disc, but I do recall BLOODTHIRSTY BUTCHERS was indeed cut and I think had some sort of freeze-frame edits. The old VHS from Midnight Video (the official label - not the bootleg operation) did not suffer from these edits. As far as RATS, I believe it was the same version as Midnight's, but I'm not sure - maybe someone else knows. However, I heard the old Midnight Video of that may have been cut already from its original 70's version.
As far as Video Kart goes, I assume they went under after their few Milligan releases failed to garnish much interest. They haven't put out anything in years. By the way, if you bought the disc cheap, you may want to sell it - the lowest one on Amazon Marketplace right now is $250. :D

The scene of the rat being nailed to the windowsill in THE RATS ARE COMING has been trimmed everywhere I've seen it (fortunately), including the Midnight Video release.

I never saw that scene, even in it's theatrical run/s. I always thought THE RATS ARE COMING was PG, so I figured it would be uncut anyway, as far as the theatrical version is concerned. But I hear now that the Video Kart is missing footage as well.
BLOODTHIRSTY BUTCHERS has a slow-mo thing going on every time a gory scene should appear. Even the homemade trailer is gorier.
I know it's never been seen in it's original cut, but I was at least hoping for the R rated theatrical cut here. I haven't picked up Something Weird's copy yet and they're the only ones I know of who carried it, beside Midnight Video.

Off topic, but there's a Duffy Square-set scene in 1971's BORN TO WIN (which I recently saw) where George Segal and another character are conversing near a marquee showing I think THE GHASTLY ONES and another Milligan opus. (It was certainly two Milligan pictures. It's winter, and in the daytime.) Across 47th St., Lauren Bacall appearing live at the Palace in APPLAUSE. Highs and lows. :)

Milligan and Bacall - tragically, a missed opportunity... :ph43r:
