DVD perfection is a cruel mistress. We've been stuck into NARUTO "Season One" for some time now and absolutely love it. We've bought into the UK release and the coming to the end of set 1.2, I've started looking at getting the next box. I'm alarmed to discover that Dubtitles have been introduced! I had thought we'd be in for the long haul here but already Manga have dropped the ball. Of course we're watching the Japanese versions with subs and I'm worried that a switch to dubtitles will be disastrous. I've read about captions appearing where no dialogue exists. I'm presuming some naming conventions and signs will differ from established ones. Already, I've noticed when spotchecking Season One that there is a huge difference between what's said in the English dub and what's appearing in the Japanese Literal translations. Even episode titles on the menus are annoyingly inconsistent with the literal translations of the "next-episode" previews but I can live with that.

Has anyone suffered through these new dubtitles after starting the show with the proper ones? Should I be looking at the more expensive US releases (I presume I have to start with the Viz BOX3?
