Title: Media Blaster's Asian Film Acquisitions
Description: Anime Expo

Terry Barhorst, Jr. - July 3, 2007 12:28 PM (GMT)
According to anime on dvd, Media Blasters has acquired:

QUOTE

Tokyoshock has acquired Zebraman, Devilman, Hair Extension, Scrap Heaven, Redeye and several Shaw Brothers films, Crow Zero

Now I thought that someone had already licensed ZEBRAMAN for R1, but I guess not. No word on which Shaw Bros movies of course; I guess we should expect an Image level of treatment for these discs (basically a port of the IVL discs with extras), but hey, it's still good news. Is CROW ZERO a CROW movie?

Umm...I wouldn't count on that. The deals are completely different.

Since it popped up on another site, I can now confirm the first ten releases from Media Blasters are...

Five Elements Ninjas AKA Super Ninjas!
Heroes Two
The Master
Challenge of the Masters
Martial Club
The Deadly Duo
The Brave Archer
The Ten Tigers of Kwangtung
Black Magic 2
Flag of Iron

Expect more info on extras and the like at the upcoming Phillyfest in August where some more announcements will be made and I will be working the rooms personally. :)

Interesting selection, one or two of them would be considered gems (different gems for different people of course). It would have been nice to have seen all of the BRAVE ARCHER movies in the list. The big treat appears to be BLACK MAGIC 2.

Different gems indeed! I see 7--count 'em!--7 gems in there and I haven't even seen BLACK MAGIC 2 or THE MASTER yet. :P

Did someone mention BLACK MAGIC 2? Finally, an uncut version in a widescreen transfer?

Any ideas on when this, and the other titles listed are to be released?

Oh...hey...this just clicked. Linn, I know you can't say what they are, but can you give us what the total number of Shaw releases from MB will be?

Agreed. I find most HK horror from this period to be something of a chore to watch, but BLACK MAGIC 2 is excellent!

Hallelujah! FIVE ELEMENT NINJAS!!!!!! Finally! Any approx release dates for these?
