Just like to inform members that there has been a recent release in Japan of the above titles. One good and one bad:

THE GOOD:

LA SETTIMA DONNA (LAST HOUSE ON THE BEACH)

Widescreen (2:35.1) anamorphic transfer

Audio: English and Italian audio options with removeable Japanese subs.

Extras: Trailer (in Italian) and a small poster/lobby card gallery.

Running time: 86 mins. (uncut as far as I know)

THE BAD:

BLACK BELLY OF THE TARANTULA

From the DVD back cover

4:3 transfer (not widescreen!!!)

Running time: 94 mins.

Audio: Italian only with rem. Japanese subs.

You can pick them up separately or as a two pack under the title ITALIAN GIALLO COLLECTION.

MY OPINION: For those with deep pockets, LA SETTIMA DONNA single disc is the way to go.

Regarding 'Black Belly', Kultvideo has it listed as 1.85 - if this isn't we might as well stick with the inferior Spanish disc. Do you know for sure, it's 1.33?

Yes. I live in Japan and saw the disc at my local DVD retailer. It clearly states 4:3 on the back cover. I think the correct OAR should be 2:35.1. Others may clarify.

Anyway, the Japanese DVD is definetely a 4:3 transfer, unfortunately. :(

Just watched the Japanese DVD of 'La Settima Donna' and even though the running time differs slightly from the uncut PAL VHS on Cinehollywood - The PAL tape runs 87min 02 secs whereas the Japanese NTSC DVD runs 86min 10secs - Both versions seem to be the same. I couldn't spot any differances at all between the two prints aside from a brief shot of some hands typing on a type writer, which occurs straight after the opening credits (After the car drives into the camera ;) ) I can only assume that the Japanese DVD is time compressed.

Great print though! Very nice to finally see this in it's OAR!
