Title: Say it aint so, Vince!
Description: ...could this be the end of McMahon?

Lance Tooks - June 19, 2007 12:57 PM (GMT)
This just in from WWE News, the ONLY news I trust:
"WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – A night originally designated Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night turned deadly when the WWE Chairman’s limousine burst into a fiery explosion just moments after Mr. McMahon stepped into it. Permanently uprooting the world of sports-entertainment, the Chairman has been presumed dead in Wilkes-Barre, Pa."

At first, I feared your headline was touting the disappearance of actor Vincent Chase, last heard from making a movie in Colombia about Pedro Escobar.

QUOTE
Despite the intense heat and ubiquitous clouds of black smoke, countless people spilled out of the arena to get a closer look at the chaos they had just seen happen live on the TitanTron.

I dunno, I just love that sentence.

And as a quasi-celebrity, McMahon must be seriously bummed (wherever he is)... he seemingly gets blowed up a week ago in a spectacular explosion, and almost no one notices... or seems to care.

What's funny is that they've been interviewing "eye witnesses" all week, each describing what took place. Well, it was broadcast on live televison (with multiple camera angles  ). Everyone who was watching was an eye witness!

Pro wrestling is dumb. And funny.

What's really messed up about this stupid storyline is that wrestler Chris Benoit and his family were found dead. The WWE has used death angles in the past, but it's never coincided with a real-life tragedy like this one.

It's just been announced on si.com that WWE is dropping the Vince storyline in light of what happened with Benoit (and the earlier passing of Sherri Martel a week ago).

The episode of ECW tonight on Sci-Fi and Smackdown on Friday are said to be without any of the usual storylines and instead will just feature the wrestlers having matches.
