Title: Bruce!

Have you all seen the bizarre Bruce Campbell Old Spice ads? If not, here's my fave:

As per usual when I get caught up on youtube, I ended up watching a bunch of related clips from the sidebar menu. One of them was the IFC show DINNER FOR FIVE which I've somehow never watched before. The guests were Bruce, Roger Corman, Rob Zombie, some really obnoxious guy I don't know, and show host Jon Favreau. It was a very interesting conversation. Corman in particular offered some nuggets of wisdom from his decades of low-budget filmmaking.

I still don't understand how Hollywood could be so blind not to see what a genius this guy is.

I'm not sure he's a "genius", but he's undeniably charismatic and the camera just loves him. Even my wife, who hates everything she's seen him in, loves him. If not Hollywood, I'm glad at least Madison Avenue has picked up on him...I expect as Bruce gets grayer and puffier, he'll find oddball advertising much more rewarding than SciFi channel drivel, and it probably does a better job of supplementing his book-writing income as well.

Me and Bruce (he's on the right) a few years ago...we both look quite different these days...

I have a very similar picture of my friend Cathy with Bruce at Mysterious Galaxy in San Diego. He really loves those Hawaiian shirts.

I hope the BUBBA HO-TEP sequel gets off the ground someday before he doesn't need any make-up.
