I came across an insanely catchy Italo-disco song by Nico Fidenco called "Cyborg 009" on some P2P network years ago (possibly the old Napster), and for the longest time, I had no idea where the hell it came from. Just by pure dumb luck, a few minutes ago, I actually discovered that it's the theme music for the Italian-dubbed version of the old anime series Cyborg 009! (I am slightly disappointed that it's not from a crazy Luigi Cozzi-esque Italian sci-fi movie)
(Warning: This WILL get stuck in your head for at least a few days)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vXLRyclNjsCan anyone provide an english translation of the lyrics? I know that "nove supermagnifici" means "supermagnificent nine," "tutti per uno, uno per tutti," means "all for one, one for all," and I'm guessing that "indistructibili" is "indestructible," but I don't know enough Italian to understand much more than that.
There aren't that many connections between the anime and euro-cult worlds that I'm aware of, but I discovered one of them. Does anyone know of any other theme songs for Italian-dubbed anime by eurocult composers?
UPDATE:
I have no idea who the composer of this song is, but it's fun too (it sounds a little G&M De Angelis/Oliver Onions-esque, is there a reason for that?):
