Pouring over some old boxes of VHS tapes, I got to thinking about the many Todd Slaughter movies I'd taped from UK's Channel 4 and wondered about his presence on DVD. I don't know how convoluted the rights to these films are but I assume they aren't irretrievable since they appeared on TV. Any chance that they're all owned by a single entity and due an archive quality release? I'd love to see them compiled with a bit of contextual background on the man himself.

The rights are available (for the UK - US rights are complicated) but I doubt you'd stand much chance of selling more than a hundred copies to be honest.

Well, if they were cheap enough for a fan to lovingly put together a small run of 500 sets without losing money, I'd buy them. Of course I'd need all my Mobian friends to dig deep and pre-order!

There very little chance you'd make any money by selling just 500 box sets.
I think you could sell more then 500 on something like this. Though it wouldn't be a barnbuster, for sales.
There's a small fan base for these, mostly among the classic horror film crowd, but I couldn't see them making much money, either. Although, I'd be most happy to be able to snatch up a remastered, box set of them. I like Slaughter's films. They're a bit over the top, and probably dated, but they have a good atmosphere and real sense of fun that I enjoy.
Someone, somewhere, surely must have the means to do this. The rights couldn't be that expensive, could they? And I THINK that elements still exist from which good transfers could be made.
