Title: Chesty Morgan scene from Fellini's Casanova

I was under the impression that this deleted sequence no longer existed in any form, but I stumbled across it on YouTube while looking for Russ Meyer trailers and vintage burlesque clips to post on my friend Julie's MySpace page.

Although visibly older, Chesty actually looks better (and more lively) here in than she does in her Doris Wishman movies, although the "better" part may because almost everything but her face and bosom is covered up, so there's no visible pot belly or thunder thighs. But I certainly don't recall her ever moving this energetically in a Wishman film, where she always seems 'luded out.

The footage is part of an interview with Fellini. Chesty doesn't unleash the "big two" until it's a few minutes into it. Sadly, I don't speak Italian, so I don't know what the Maestro is saying.

When she's Federico's puppet, Chesty dances to his tune (so does sprightly Sutherland here), with Doris she's in much less capable hands, and gets strung up and strung out simple as that.

Morgan's quite excellent as 'Barbarina' the governess, Casanova's 'secret lover'. Thanks for the link!

Where did this documentary footage come from? It seems to emanate from Fellini himself, perhaps one of his staged documents like BLOCK NOTES OF A DIRECTOR, and INTERVISTA? The visiting critic (whoever he is...Tullio Kezich?) seems stolidly 'real' enough, but the lively female assistant (who is she? she's winningly cute) seems too good to be true, an artistic grace note here, a free spirit who in the days of the feminist backlash against Fellini is really amused and possibly turned on by the directors' big breasted bad girls. If I listened right, she ushers in a discussion of those types, the tobbaconist with the big bazooms in AMARCORD the she-wolf women of 8 1/2 and forementioned AMARCORD...and Chesty Morgan!
