DeepDiscount has this title at a very tempting price. It stars Vince Edwards and Carol Ohmart and was produced by Eddie Romero and directed by oldtime Hollywood John Cromwell, about whom I know very little, in what looks like a standard 50s potboiler. Since I like standard 50s potboilers and have a mild curiosity about Edwards (good, gritty performance in Hugo Haas' HIT AND RUN) and Ohmart (HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL and SPIDER BABY, and not much else?), I might bite if anyone can recommend it. Filippino-produced cult stuff pre-BLOOD ISLAND can be interesting in itself; I like Romero's TERROR IS A MAN and the films of Ferde Grofé Jr, especially FORTRESS OF THE DEAD, so might be favorably disposed towards a risky pickup.
Hi
I saw these a few months ago and can't say I'd recommend it as a purchase. It may be worth a look as a minor noir-influenced drama, but it's not distinguished in any way. Not really bad, but not really good either. It sort of reminded me of a tepid episode from a TV series of the era: lots of talk, not much action. There is some use of locations, but nothing memorable
Thanks, Jay. Looks like I'll save my six bucks and watch one of the hundreds of backlogged videos littering my shelves, instead.
