I was sittin' in Miami, pouring blended whiskey down
When this old gray, black gentleman was cleaning up the lounge.
There wasn't anyone around, except this old man and me.
The guy who ran the bar was watching Ironside on TV.

Haven't seen it, but anyone who quotes Tom T Hall is A-OK in my book.
I've not been able to get those trailers to work, but I've seen IRONSIDE enough to know that it isn't one of my favorite cop shows. Burr is great, but IRONSIDE's supporting cast is downright dullsville (actors don't come any more wooden than Don Galloway), and the show suffers too much from Universalitis, giving it a stale look. Directors like Don Weis and Leslie Martinson are much too staid for my tastes; IRONSIDE could have used punchier directors like Sutton Roley or Don Medford. Some of the music is really good, though, with guys like Oliver Nelson, Benny Golson and Quincy Jones involved. Of course, Tarantino used Jones' theme to amusing effect in KILL BILL, VOL. 1 (although I bet he was thinking of FIVE FINGERS OF DEATH, not IRONSIDE, when he swiped it).
