I recieved the Simpsons Season 5 set as a Christmas gift (they got it ready a lot quicker than usual, we usually only get one set per year), and it looks very nice so far (I haven't had time to really dig into it yet), but one little thing about it bugs me a little. As far as I can tell, the only way to access the deleted scenes is to turn on the "deleted scenes" option and hit the "enter" button when the little pair of scissors comes on the screen. I suppose that's sort of useful because it shows you where the scene would have been, but I'm generally not a big fan of having to push a button while a movie/episode of a tv show is playing to access an extra and there really should be some other way to get to the deleted scenes for each episode. Does this bug anyone else who has the Season 5 set?
The sets for the previous seasons only had a few deleted scenes, I wonder why there are so many on this set. I've only watched a couple of episodes so far, but from what I've seen of the deleted scenes, it's generally not too hard to tell why they were cut. (Some of them have been seen in other places, like that episode hosted by Troy Mclure). I wonder if one of the deleted scenes is one where Ralph Wiggum sees Krusty on an airplane and tells him, "When I watch your show, I laugh so hard that I throw up!". I'm pretty sure that I saw that somewhere once and didn't just imagine it.
I don't have the set to hand at the moment, but I'm under the impression that you can access the deleted scenes from the Bonus Features menu. That's certainly the case on Disc 4 (the only one on which I've watched the deleted scenes so far), so it could be different on the other discs - I'm not sure.

Yeah, all of the set's deleted scenes can be viewed together on disc 4 (with optional commentary), but they're still a little poorly organized with no menu or any way to get to the later ones without hitting the "chapter forward" button several times. (I also noticed that this set has an unskippable FBI warning at the beginning that wasn't on any of the previous Simpsons sets)
There are a few deleted scenes from Season 5 that were shown in the Troy McLure episode that are missing from this set, like a few brief bits from 'Treehouse of Horror IV' (which can be seen in animatic form on disc 1) and "My worst, eh? Release the robotic Richard Simmons!" from 'Burns' Heir'. The set does include the James Bond scene from 'Springfield' and the Bollywood movie that Apu showed to the Simpsons (which actually seems pretty subdued compared to some of the real ones I've seen). No meeting between Ralph and Krusty on an airplane, unfortunately.
