Title: Shark Attack 3
Description: Has ANYONE heard of this?

Yeah, I've been burned before too... but you gotta admit,

THIS looks kinda SPECTACULAR!

And what's one to make of pearls like THESE?

I couldn't get those clips to play at work, but if they're what I think they are, you can also find them on YouTube.

SHARK ATTACK 3 has been discussed before in this thread and in this one. Plus, I bet it has come up on the lengthy recommendations threads on the Cult and the Sci-Fi/Horror boards. It's a terrible movie well worth watching.

Oh, and the dialogue was an ad-lib intended to crack the leading lady up, but director David Worth left it in the final cut anyway. Who knows why, although it actually doesn't seem to out-of-place in the wacky Nu Image-verse.

Is this movie the same as GREAT WHITE/LAST SHARK?

I couldn't tell from the past threads...

No. GREAT WHITE/LAST SHARK is an Italian JAWS ripoff released (barely) in the U.S. around 1980. SHARK ATTACK 3 is a recent DTV Nu Image production.

While I can't recommend the Casper Van Dien "original", both SHARK ATTACK 2 and 3 are must see films. The third one is the funniest.

I think SHARK ATTACK is entertaining too (the Casper factor is a huge detriment, of course), but I agree that SHARK ATTACK 2 and 3 are "better." I also recommend Nu Image's SHARK ZONE, which has sharks that roar, divers who can speak underwater like Aquaman, Bulgaria standing in for San Francisco (!), shark-hunting bartenders, beach security officers who boss around heli pilots, the same actor playing both the mayor and the hero's father, and stock footage of whales unconvincingly representing sharks. Star Dean Cochran told me it was filmed as JURASSIC SHARK, which would have been hilarious.

I also found CRUEL JAWS by Bruno Mattei to be immensely enjoyable due to being both rubbish and jaw-droppingly cheeky in its theft of other films' materials. One needs to be in the right mood to enjoy it - I saw it at Horrorthon last year and if there's a better environment to see it in than a late night show in a cinema full of beer-fuelled Irishmen, I can't imagine it.

Particularly enjoyed the repeated chants of "HO-GAN!" whenever the Hulkalike came on screen.
