Glenn Erickson is reporting in his DVD Savant column that June 5 is the release date for the long-rumored upgrades of Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and Duck You Sucker. They will also be in a box with The Good the Bad & the Ugly though he didn't know if this was the extended version or not.

Will they be the same as the MGM UK discs or the German restoration licensed to Paramount which apparently look better (I own the German discs but have not seen the MGM versions).
The German disk of FAFDM also restores the footage missing to the beating-up sequence that is missing from the UK disc due to MGM messing things up. Hopefully, the USA disk will also include this footage.

I highly doubt it. You would think that in the years of delay between when MGM did their remastering and when these finally got announced for the U.S., corrections such as this could get done. But sadly, since it was Sony who pulled the plug on it - and pretty much every other MGM restoration that did not have the words "James" or "Bond" involved - I have the sad feeling we'll just get what MGM released everywhere else.
Still, I'll likely pick it up.
A report on the DVD Times website implies that the USA releases will be the same as the UK releases (as opposed to the German releases which have the extra mono tracks and restoration of footage to FAFDM omitted due to MGM's botch job - although I think the German DVD is still missing the 3s-4s of Indio laughing after he sets the prison guard free and the final shot of the bullet wound from the second flashback).
