Argh! I'm staying at the Safari Inn in April! I'm scared now.
The word on the street is that this story is a fake. New Times is notorious for writing prank stories that sound convincing at first - when they published in L.A., I got hornswoggled by stories about fixing the Sosa/McGuire batting streaks and about a non-existent gay rap artist.
Of course, normally they print those stories around April Fools' Day, so that would make it awful early to be running a prank story here. Unless they just want to strike while the iron is hot.
