Saw over at TVshowsondvd that 'Banacek' is finally turning up on dvd come this May (release subject to change of course). Other TV Guide branded dvds to be released include 'The Crow' aka 'The Crow: Stairway to Heaven' (which might deserve a revisiting) and some original TV Guide drivel. The big news is 'Banacek'.

Banacek - TV Guide Presents... line coming from Hart Sharp - Banacek gets first releaseI think only the 'Columbo's and maybe 'McCloud's have been getting any serious re-play for the last twentyish years so it'll be interesting to see how 'Banacek' holds up. I remember it being pretty slick back in the day.
Loved Banacek, couldn't care less about The Crow series.
I'm all for it...if under the TV GUIDE banner we could get some more shows like BANACEK (DAN AUGUST, HAWK, SHAFT, err, SHANNON'S DEAL?) I'll forgive them anything...
I want we some NAME OF THE GAME. What was that one with Ben Gazzara? Oh yeah. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. Probably a lot weaker than my five year old self thought it was at the time, but you just don't see any of those late 60s/early 70s dramas any more. Anybody remember THE MAGICIAN with Bill Bixby? I thought it was the coolest thing ever that he lived on a private plane. I think he lived on it, or did he just have a private plane? I used to love IT TAKES A THIEF too.
