a friend of a friend is looking to ID these movies that she saw years and years ago, and have haunted her ever since!
here's the descriptions...
2
different movies or shows. One was this guy out in a cabin in the woods.
Something creepy going on, he knows he can't open the doors or windows. In
one scene he's staring down at his plate (he made a steak in a frying pan)
and there's this bird's eye view of the plate/steak...the steak dissolves
into a million cockroaches crawling all over the place. The guy looks out
the window and sees this little troll/gnome creature who is looking in and
saying something evil, freakiest little gnomonster I've ever seen.
The other one is a TV movie, I'm pretty sure. Some woman falls in love
with a guy, move into creepy looking apartment building. You know
something is funny because people have been killed and you keep seeing the
gargoyles up on the roof. Guy tells her some secret that she's never
supposed to tell. I'm not sure if she falls in love with the gargoyle guy
or some other guy, but she ends up telling the secret...And you see behind
her that the gargoyle is heartbroken and at the same time is turning into a
gargoyle. Absolutely f*cking scary. Great exterior shots of a New
York-looking building with gargoyles looking down from the roof.

Is this TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE, which was not a TV-movie, but a movie based on a TV series?
Yeah, that second one is definitely the last segment from TFDS: TM.
The second one does sound like it's from Tales from the Darkside although the genders of the characters are reversed. It's possible it could be from a different source since this plot is such an old chestnut. It's also used as one of the stories in the Japanese ghost anthology Kwaidan.
