Title: question on Michael Learns to Rock

doesn't sound very Asian related or movie related, doesn't it?
anyway, i've been listening to another one of their songs other than "That's why you go away", which is extremely among Asians as many people love singing to that tune in karaokes. Then I come across a song I've never heard from them before. It was called "Take me to your heart" and immediately, i recognized that song because the Chinese version was very popular since the early 90s. It was Jacky Cheung's "Wen Bie" (Farewell Kiss) but it was in English!!!

anyway, I'm here to ask about the history of this song. which one came first? the chinese version or the english version? does anybody know?

Here's a funny coincidence --

I read your post on Dec. 23, and on Dec. 24, one of my students talked about that song in my class, and mentioned the same thing you did! I asked him for more information, like if he knew if Jackie Cheung actually wrote the orginal melody, but he said he didn't know the song's origin.

yeah....i seem to remember the melody is written by Jacky Cheung himself.
and when i watch Jacky's music video of this song, i always see a "OT (original track)" and another title for the song which i forget.

but i've never heard this english version until now. so i really gotta wonder....when did Michael Learns to Rock record this track..?
